Will These SPECIAL SUBS Help You Learn Japanese? (I don't know, but you can try'em)

TLDR: In the following downloadable zip file are karaoke subs that are intended to teach you Japanese. There are subtitle files for three different anime episodes/movies:

  • Card Captor Sakura Episode 1 - Subtitles - Madhouse - CLAMP (Cardcaptor Sakura Ep 1.ass)
  • Dr. Stone Episode 1 - Subtitles - Toho Animation -TMS / Die4Studio - Riichiro Inagaki (Dr Stone Ep 1.ass)
  • Whisper of the Heart - Subtitles - Studio Ghibli - Yoshifumi Kondō - Hayao Miyazaki - Aoi Hiiragi (Whisper Of The Heart.ass)

Download links for the zip with subtitle files In it:

UPDATE: I created a Github project with the subs that will have the latest version of them: https://github.com/gokenshadow/LearnJapaneseKaraokeSubtitles/tree/main

Google Drive Link: Goken - Learn Japanese Karaoke Subs.zip (324KB)

Mega Link: Goken - Learn Japanese Karaoke Subs.zip (324KB)

The easiest way to use them is with VLC player, but use whatever player you want if you know what you're doing.

NOTE: For Dr. Stone, there are two different versions of the subs, one for Crunchyroll because it has a bumper that extends the length slightly (Dr Stone Ep 1 Crunchyroll.ass), and one for YouTube (Dr Stone Ep 1.ass).

Main Article

In theory, watching anime in Japanese with English subtitles should teach you Japanese. It exposes you not only to the Japanese language spoken with perfect pronunciation and proper grammatical structure by native Japanese people, but it also gives you a translation of each and every spoken sentence of that language. It gives you everything you need to to understand what's being said. In fact, it almost seems a given that a person would learn Japanese from it. It seems like if a person were to just watch a ton of anime with subtitles, they would inevitably start understanding Japanese and maybe even be able to speak some of it.

The "Emotional Impact" of Haruhi Suzumiya

Since the first time I encountered The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, I've always wondered why the episodes are ordered in such a seemingly disjointed way. I was kind of lazy on the matter of figuring it out and couldn't come up with any satisfying answers in my head, so I turned to the "experts" in the field. I took a visit to the ever-so-wise /a/ of the all-knowing 4chan. I made a quick post asking for the reason, and they gave me quick answer in reply: poignancy.

Gankutsuou

I can't really speak much about this anime since I only saw the first episode, but I can say my feelings about it so far. It was terribly boring.

In case you were wondering...

This is an ANIME REVIEW website; I'm what's known as a poser OTAKU, and I plan to write down plenty of ANIME CRITIQUES of all kinds of JAPANESE ANIMATION from the well known types of DRAGONBALL fame to the so obscure two people know about it types like freaking  ANGEL'S EGG, so be aware of that.

To Exit the Box

Beginnings are rough when done poorly, so sense behooves me to start the act richly, however such a policy encourages the crits to crit and the wannabes to freeze, so my beginning, this start, is rough for the sake of no excuses regarding whence I came when the top finds me, which may or may not happen within year under normal circumstances, but will, under my control, breathe in a matter of weeks.
Okay, you bin, I've got an answer that'll blast your mind into a zillion pieces.

No.

Was it as I promised, good sir?

Yes.

Thank you for your kind intervention.

I really like doing this sort of thing. My world changes so much. Everytime I sit down on this and type on that and listen to that at the same time my mind gets a jumping scope centered view of my soul. It's always a blessing seeing what beautiful and sometimes ugly things exist in there.
